What’s the Redbox Card?
The Redbox Card works like a gift card that you can use to pay for the movies you rent at Redbox. You can give it as a gift or keep it for yourself.
What types of Redbox Cards are there?
There are two types of cards: physical cards (which are mailed to you and fit in your wallet, but can also be used to reserve movies at redbox.com) and digital Redbox Cards (which are emailed to you and can only be used when you reserve movies in advance at redbox.com). Where can I use my Redbox Card?
If you have a physical card (one that fits in your wallet), you can use it at any Redbox location in the U.S. You can also register it here and use it to reserve movies in advance at redbox.com.
If you have a digital Redbox Card (one that was emailed to you), you can only use it to reserve movies in advance at redbox.com.
Sorry, but Redbox Cards can’t be used to reserve movie via the Redbox mobile app.
How do I use my Redbox Card at the box?
It’s easy!
Add a DVD or Blu-ray Disc® to your cart.
When prompted, swipe your card.
If you have a digital Redbox Card (and not a physical one that fits in your wallet), you can only use it when you reserve a rental at redbox.com.
What can I rent with my Redbox Card?
You can rent DVDs and Blu-ray™ Discs.Redbox Cards can't be used to rent video games.
How many movies can I rent at a time with my Redbox Card?
You can rent up to two movies at a time with your card.
How can I check the balance of my Redbox Card?
As long as your card is registered at redbox.com, you can check your balance here. (Want to register your card? Do it here.) If your card isn’t registered, you can check your balance by contacting us.
I have less than the amount of a rental day on my Redbox Card, so I can’t use it to rent anything. What should I do?
You can hang onto the card, because in the future you’ll be able to add value to it. Or you can buy another card and register both of them here, and then your total combined funds will be available on either card (or through your redbox.com account, when you reserve your rental online).

If I use my Redbox Card at the box, can I pay for my rentals with promo codes or credits?
Yes! Select your payment option (promo codes or credits) just like you would if you were swiping a credit card instead of a Redbox Card.
Can I use the funds on my Redbox Card to buy promo codes or other Redbox Cards?
Sorry, no. It can only be used to rent DVDs and Blu-rayTM Discs.
Can I use my Redbox Card for streaming movies at Redbox Instant by Verizon?
Sorry, no. Your Redbox Card can only be used for DVDs and Blu-ray TM Discs.
I used my Redbox Card to rent a disc that ended up being unplayable. What should I do?
Sorry about that! Please contact us and we’ll refund your rental back to your Redbox Card right away.
I want to use my Redbox Card to reserve a movie online. Why do I need to add my credit card info?
You’ll always need a payment card to reserve a movie online, even if you want to pay for your rental with a Redbox Card. We’re sorry if it causes an inconvenience.
